Course Details

This Tertiary Preparation Course (TPC) is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:

  • Year 12 equivalent qualification
  • Tertiary Entrance Score (TES) for those seeking entry to university
  • entry to further study at diploma level and above in the Vocational Education and Training sector
  • entry to careers requiring a year 12 equivalent qualification, including Australian Defence Force
  • research and high level written skills
  • critical thinking and academic learning skills
  • the ability to engage with and use a range of technologies
  • preparation for further study in science, technology, engineering and maths vocational areas.

**COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS**

To successfully complete this course, you will need:

  • USI Number (Unique Student Identification) available from usi.gov.au
  • to be 15 years or older at enrolment
  • if under 17 years students must complete Raised School Leaving Age documentation (RSLA) documentation available from their leaving High School/ or have completed Year 10 equivalent.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a full time blended course. You will need to attend approximately 23 hours of class, over 4 days a week, for 36 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 3 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 9 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including research projects, reading and online research.

This course offering is designed for people who wish to improve their ATAR score or those wishing to complete Years 11 and 12 equivalent (Certificate IV) with an ATAR. This course prepares students for further study and University.

This course is currently scheduled on Monday and Thursday from 9.00am to 3.30pm and Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.00am to 1.00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

You may be eligible for a concession and/or exemption. This will be confirmed during the enrolment process.

FULLY GOVERNMENT SUBSIDISED

This course is fully government-subsidised for eligible students, meaning you will not have to pay any course fees. It is part of a program to help people develop the skills they need to get a job, undertake entry level qualifications or transition to a new job.

If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.

Students require basic stationery and a USB.
