ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students). To make sure this course is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you have Certificate II or equivalent skills and knowledge for entry. In TAFE NSW, potential students undertake LLN screening through RUReady, participate in an interview and complete a writing task so it can be determined whether this course is an appropriate pathway. Students should achieve RUReady results that show they are working within ACSF Level 3 or above. Students achieving Level 2 can still undertake the course, particularly when their demonstrated strengths align with the skills required in their nominated elective streams. All students must achieve ACSF 3 for reading, learning and writing. However, students achieving ACSF 2 for numeracy may enter the course but will not be able to access higher level maths, science and statistics units. Students with LLN needs may be able to access targeted support assessed on a needs basis. To engage support, students speak to the teacher regarding their request. Students can arrange appointments or teachers can arrange connections with support specialists from relevant units who are able to engage with students and provide specialist advice, assistance and equipment, where relevant.
