Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: Using correct grammar in spoken and written texts, understanding and responding to a range of spoken and written texts
Practical skills assessments: Researching and preparing a report and an essay, evaluating sources of information and referencing correctly, giving a 7-10 minute spoken presentation on a prepared topic, participating in a discussion on study-related topics

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Advanced English for Further Study qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 6 units of competency, including 4 core and 2 speciality units.

TAFE NSW Hornsby is located on Sydney’s upper north shore, set in acres of lovely bushland and a short walk to Hornsby train station. Specialising in graphic design, information technology, visual arts and ceramics, TAFE NSW Hornsby features light filled studios and exhibition spaces open to the public. The graphic design and multimedia studio complex embraces the latest in digital technologies and provides students with real-world design experience working on client-based design jobs, through 'The White Room' - a multimedia training complex that simulates a design firm.
