Course Details

The Drone Essentials course covers foundational skills in using an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) otherwise known as a Drone. Learners will undertake training in two units of competency to develop the skills and knowledge required to operate Remote Pilot Aircraft (RPA) Systems.

This training is not subsidised by Government funding. There are no fee exemptions, concessions or subsidies available for this course.
TAFE NSW does not accept cash. Payment may be made by Credit Card, EFTPOS, cheque or money order made payable to TAFE NSW.
Where fee for service is being sponsored by an employer or third party organisation an official purchase order or contract arrangement must be in place to activate the student's enrolment.
Payment of the course fee must be made PRIOR to commencement of a learning activity.

There are no entry requirements for this course.
This course is a combination of on-line and face-to-face delivery. Learners will commence the course on-line and will be notified when face-to-face classes are run. Classes will be run at various sites along the west of the state.
This short course is for learners with an interest in drone technology. Learners will cover the basic operation of drones and current CASA rules for users.

Learners will be contacted by teaching staff and provided with an access link and key to the on-line learning management system (Moodle) and negotiate a face to face delivery date.
