The Advanced Electrical Control (AEC) course is designed to extend the knowledge and practical experience gained by students who have completed the AEE course. These courses are provided to the maritime industry for the training of Marine Engineers, therefore the usual prerequisite is a Marine Engineer Watchkeeper Certificate.

The Advanced Electrical Control (AEC) course runs for 4 weeks and is designed to extend the knowledge and practical experience gained by students who have completed the AEE course. These courses are provided to the maritime industry for the training of Marine Engineers therefore the usual prerequisite is a Marine Engineer Watchkeeper Certificate. Equivalent marine engineering, electrical or other relevant qualifications may be considered as meeting prerequisite requirements, keeping in mind the large practical component of the courses and safety issues.
A message for young people under 17 years of age - If you are under 17 years and wish to enrol you will need to have completed Year 10 or have special permission from school and TAFE to do so.

Classes are currently scheduled to run on Thursday, 7.30am to 5.00pm and Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm.
In addition to your course fee, there may be some additional charges to cover the costs of undertaking this training. Costs associated with work experience and field trips such as food, transport and accommodation are at the students own expense.
