Course Details

The successful completion of the four units in this course will enable the participants to obtain the skills to effectively and safely milk dairy cattle.. They will also learn how to install electric fencing and muster cattle using quad bikes.
There are no entry requirements for this course
Participants must have an interest and affinity with dairy cattle.
Course description:
TAFE NSW is offering a two week training course at Bega Campus.
Learn the skills and knowledge required to work as a casual relief milker in the dairy industry.
Benefits of working as a relief milker include: flexible work conditions, work with animals, outdoor lifestyle, the ability to move into a full dairy qualification (Certificate 3 Agriculture (Dairy) and career.

This course also provides:
Completion of on-the-job experience on local dairy farms which may help you to secure employment.

Course outcomes:
Students who successfully complete will attain the following units:
AHCWH5201 Participate in work health and safety processes
AHCMOM212 Operate quad bikes
AHCDRY201 Milk livestock
AHCINF302 Plan and construct an electric fence
