Do you require practical first aid skills as part of your job or volunteer work? The Statement of Attainment in Provide First Aid course will provide you with up to date first aid procedures. You will learn how to respond in an emergency situation, communicate details of the incident and evaluate your own performance. Once you have successfully completed this course your First Aid skills will be valid for 3 years. However, the CPR component of the course is valid for 12 months and will need to be updated annually for you to keep your certification current.
This pack will include the following:
1. Textbook, First Aid Workbook, Bandage and Sling ? this is to be used as part of the training
Please complete the following pre-course tasks prior to attending the course: - Section 1 of the First Aid Workbook - Self-assessment Activities in the Green Manual pages 21, 41, 72 and 88
It is a requirement of this course that learners are physically able to kneel on the floor to demonstrate their competency to perform CPR on different casualties. This practical demonstration must be carried out for at least two (2) minutes uninterrupted. Late arrival or those leaving early risk not achieving competency.
Once enrolled students will be required to attend on the nominated day and complete the CPR assessment.
This course is for workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. You will learn how to respond in an emergency situation, apply appropriate first aid procedures, communicate details of the incident and evaluate your own performance. When you finish this course you can undertake further First Aid training in other first aid related occupational courses. Advanced standing may be granted in courses where providing first aid in a workplace is a part of the course.
Refresher training in CPR should be undertaken annually and first aid qualifications should be renewed every three (3) years.
