  • Students must hold the qualifying sea service as determined by Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). Enrolling students may be requested by TAFE NSW Newcastle to provide evidence to confirm course suitability.

  • Students are encouraged to contact Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) on 1800 627 484 if they are unsure of their revalidation requirements.

  • Students must satisfy competence in the mandatory sea survival and fire fighting demonstrations to successfully qualify for the issuance of course certification.
