Course Details

This course is designed to inform and educate the participants of typical asbestos related products and locations that asbestos material may be encountered in the community.

When you study with TAFE NSW, we want you to succeed. Entry requirements allow us to make sure that you have the right pre-existing knowledge and skills to achieve your chosen qualification. You will need to provide evidence that you meet the requirements listed in this section.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a part time day course. You will need to attend approximately 4 hours of class, over 1 day.

TAFE NSW Campus Libraries or Connected Delivery Centres can be utilised to access the course. Staff will be on these sites to assist you.

This course offering is designed for people who want the knowledge they need to identify and work safely with asbestos, or asbestos containing material. Asbestos awareness training is mandatory for anyone whose normal work duties present a reasonable likelihood of disturbing or coming into contact with asbestos

Course will be delivered by Microsoft Teams. Applicants will be notified 7 days before delivery of how they can join.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

FULLY GOVERNMENT SUBSIDISED

This course is fully government-subsidised for eligible students, meaning you will not have to pay any course fees. It is part of a program to help people develop the skills they need to get a job, undertake entry level qualifications or transition to a new job.

If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.
