Materials needed

To complete this course, the following materials are required:

  • This training is not subsidised by Government funding. There are no fee exemptions, concessions or subsidies available for this course.

    Full payment of the course fee is required 7 days prior to the start of the class.

    Refund of the course fee is only due in the following circumstances-

    - TAFE NSW has cancelled the course you were enrolled in, or

    - You formally advise the campus in writing at least 7 days prior to the start of your course that you are withdrawing.

    In any other circumstances, full or partial refund of the course fee is at the discretion of the campus delegate.

  • This course is designed for people who:

    • hold AMSA issued Certificates of Competency (Master and Deck Officers) who do not hold the qualifying sea service.
  • To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:

    • eligible for the issue of an Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) approved certificate. Candidates must possess an Australian issued Certificate of Competency (CoC)
    • pre STCW 95 CoC holders must contact AMSA
  • If you do not hold the AMSA certificate pre-requisites, you will be issued with a TAFE Statement of Attainment only

Course delivery Virtual classroom, off campus

You will be able to join the class from anywhere with a good internet connection, such as your home or a TAFE campus. If you would like to join from TAFE, please contact your local campus to book a space. Much like a regular class, you will have scheduled times of attendance.
