Your enrolment is for 12 mths: study in your own time at your own pace. An individual training plan will be provided when you enrol in this course. The plan will outline the recommended study timetable and detail the units and assessments.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
This course involves an assessment on the wiring rules. There will be a TAFE Digital assessment to test your knowledge of the current edition of the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules - AS/NZS 3000.
This assessment runs for one and a half hours and has two parts.
Part A - Knowledge assessment: short answer. This is a closed book exam and you'll need to get 100% to pass Part A.
Part B - Knowledge assessment: short answer and a few calculations. This is an open book exam. You'll be allowed to use the current edition of the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules - AS/NZS 3000. You must get a minimum mark of 60% to pass Part B.
You'll need an overall mark of at least 80% to pass this course.

If you do not pass the test on your first attempt, successful completion of the assignment will be required before you will be allowed to re-attempt the test.
A maximum of two attempts at the theory examination in any 12 month enrolment period will be permitted.
Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.
Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
