The TAFE Statement in NSW Liquor Licensee (Advanced) is the mandatory training you need to manage and operate a high risk business as a licensee. Understand complicated legislation and compliance like the back of your hand, and support your business from the bottom up.

This growth can be attributed to the burgeoning foodie culture, population growth and an increase in consumer demand. Employment in the industry is set to increase by 12.1% in the next five years, which means an additional 91,000 jobs.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

This course is subject to licensing requirements as set by the Liquor Regulation 2018 through Liquor & Gaming NSW.

A Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) is the foundational competency required in order to sell, serve or supply liquor. Depending on your duties you may also need Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG).

The TAFE NSW Liquor Licensee Advanced course is a mandatory requirement for licensees, approved managers and club secretaries overseeing a business operating past midnight, a high risk venue or business is located in certain precincts.

  • Industry experience in a licensee or supervisory role in hospitality or the liquor industry

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students). To make sure this course is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence of:

  • successful completion of the Liquor and Gaming NSW Mandatory Licensee Training Course

This advanced Licensee course provides:

  • additional training for owners, managers or supervisors who require a NSW liquor license for a venue deemed by Liquor and Gaming NSW to be higher risk. Typically, this involves pubs, bars, clubs, hotels, nightclubs and other venues that serve liquor regularly after midnight. Please check the Liquor and Gaming website for further information. Warning: Some content in this course may be offensive to some people.

This course requires you to complete a one on one discussion with a teacher via a virtual meeting. In this meeting you will be required to demonstrate your knowledge of the unit content, and show how you would put this knowledge into practice in your place of work.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is an self paced online course. You must attend approximately 6 hours of class.

The course will run 26 weeks.

This training is not subsidised by Government funding. There are no fee exemptions, concessions or subsidies available for this course.
