This course explores the fundamentals of product presentation and photography for small business promotion.
You will learn the basics of digital SLR camera techniques, studio and natural lighting, styling and presentation, in order to gain skills and knowledge in photography fundamentals for small business needs.
You will explore the preparation of your images using photographic software (Photoshop) to adjust and prepare them correctly for online and print promotion.
This is a Part Time Day Face to Face course. You will need to attend approximately 5 hours of class, over 1 day a week, for 8 weeks.
You may also be required to complete approximately 3 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, assignment preparation, and research.
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?
This course is suitable for learners who are interested in learning the basics of graphic design, using industry standard software. The course will help students prepare for full qualifications, and/or to upskill using industry standard software.
SERVICES AND STUDY SUPPORT
This course explores the fundamentals of product presentation and photography for small business promotion. You will learn the basics of digital SLR camera techniques, studio and natural lighting, styling and presentation, in order to gain skills and knowledge in the fundamentals of photography for small business needs. You won?t need your own photographic studio-- we?ll show you how you can apply these skills using minimal equipment. You will explore the preparation of your images using photographic software (Photoshop) to adjust and prepare them correctly for online and print promotion.
We have our own photography studio and equipment on campus. If you have your own camera you would like to use, you are welcome to bring it along.

To keep you safe while studying, some of our face to face classes may be replaced with online or connected learning. We have also modified our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. As restrictions ease, the way you attend your class may change again. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, due to the impacts of COVID 19 there may be a delay or modification in being able to undertake these aspects of your course in the planned timeframe. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.
This course is currently scheduled on Friday from 9.30am to 3.30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

FULLY GOVERNMENT SUBSIDISED
This course is fully government-subsidised for eligible students, meaning you will not have to pay any course fees. It is part of a program to help people develop the skills they need to get a job, undertake entry level qualifications or transition to a new job.
If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee $1290.
