Course Details

This course provides the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work in NSW. On completion you will be able to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. The course covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

When you study with TAFE NSW, we want you to succeed. Entry requirements allow us to make sure that you have the right pre-existing knowledge and skills to achieve your chosen qualification. You will need to provide evidence that you meet the requirements listed in this section.

SafeWork NSW require all applicants undertaking this training to be a minimum of 14 years of age.

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are 14 years or older and provide 100 points of original ID as per SafeWork NSW requirements. This identification must be original documents and be sighted by the teacher on the day of the course and prior to commencing the course.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to attend for the 7 hour duration and successfully complete all assessment tasks

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a part time face to face course. You will need to attend approximately 7 hours of class, over 1 day.

This course offering is designed for people who that would like to work in the Construction industry or anyone that may have to visit a Construction site as part of their employment. It is a requirement from SafeWork NSW.

This course confirms the General Induction Training (GIT) and leads to issuing of a White Card. Participants must be 14 years or older.
