Course Details

Spreadsheets are used in every industry and in all levels of job roles. With the growth of industry and infrastructure competently trained staff are in high demand. This course would suit unemployed job seekers and those looking to up-skill to perform in higher roles or to stay up to date with current technology.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students). To make sure this course is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

To be enrolled in this course, it is recommended you:

  • you have completed at least Year 10 or equivalent
  • you have basic IT skills and are comfortable working with computers
  • you are able to use the internet to complete day-to-day activities, such as searching online, and using various online communication methods like email, and potentially social media
  • you are able to perform simple file management tasks, like creating new folders, saving and copying files, renaming files, etc

To successfully complete this course, you will need:

  • you have access to a reliable computer and good internet connection, during the timetabled class hours. A webcam, headphones and microphone are also preferred, but not essential

Please note: As a TAFE student, you are eligible for a free student version of both Microsoft Office 365, and the Adobe Creative Suite, which will assist you in completing your course work. If you don't have access to a computer and/or internet, or it is not reliable, you can visit any TAFE campus, once enrolled, and use the provisioned computer equipment there to complete your course work and participate in the lessons.

There are no information sessions currently scheduled for this course.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a part time evening course. You will need to attend approximately 3 hours of class, over 1 day a week, for 9 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 1.9 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 2.3 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, research, and preparation for assessments.

To keep you safe while studying, some of our face to face classes may be replaced with online or connected learning. We have also modified our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. As restrictions ease, the way you attend your class may change again. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, due to the impacts of COVID 19 there may be a delay or modification in being able to undertake these aspects of your course in the planned timeframe. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.

This course is currently scheduled to run remotely, for 1 day a week, via Microsoft Teams. An individual training plan will be provided when you enrol in this course.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

FULLY GOVERNMENT SUBSIDISED

This course is fully government-subsidised for eligible students, meaning you will not have to pay any course fees. It is part of a program to help people develop the skills they need to get a job, undertake entry level qualifications or transition to a new job.

If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.
