Do you require practical first aid skills? This course will provide you with up to date first aid procedures. You will learn how to respond in an emergency situation, communicate details of the incident and evaluate your own performance. Once you have successfully completed this course your First Aid skills will be valid for 3 years. However, the CPR component of the course is valid for 12 months and will need to be updated annually for you to keep your certification current.
This is a part-time face-to-face course. You will need to attend approximately 8 hours of class over 1 day.
You may also be required to complete approximately 4 hours of additional study outside of class hours, including recommended reading and Moodle work.
TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THIS COURSE
To complete the practical assessments in first aid, the learner must have the physical ability to provide resuscitation by kneeling on the floor and performing chest compressions for 2 minutes uninterrupted, on both an adult and infant manikin.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

This training is not subsidised by Government funding. There are no fee exemptions, concessions or subsidies available for this course.
