Course Details

Do you require practical first aid skills? This course will provide you with up to date first aid procedures. You will learn how to respond in an emergency situation, communicate details of the incident and evaluate your own performance. Once you have successfully completed this course your First Aid skills will be valid for 3 years. However, the CPR component of the course is valid for 12 months and will need to be updated annually for you to keep your certification current.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students). To make sure this course is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

To successfully complete this course, you will need:

  • to attend a mandatory one day face to face practical workshop at TAFE Digital, 51 Wentworth Rd, Strathfield. NSW 2135.

Participants must be able to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles) on an adult manikin placed on the floor, be able to assess the area for danger, and visually and verbally assessment of the casualty and be able to assess the environment following DRSABCD in line with ARC Guidelines.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is an online course. You will need to complete approximately half an hour of online study, each week, for your enrolment duration of 12 weeks.
You can increase the hours of online study per week to complete the course sooner.

As well as the online component, there is a requirement to do (equivalent) 1 hours of face to face or other study per week. You will need to attend a mandatory one day face to face practical workshop at TAFE Digital, Strathfield.

An individual training plan will be provided when you enrol in this course. Your plan will outline the recommended study timetable and detail your units and assessments. The one day practical workshop, is held in Strathfield, Sydney.

This training is not subsidised by Government funding. There are no fee exemptions, concessions or subsidies available for this course.
