This is a Full Time Blended delivery course. You will need to attend approximately 40 hours of class, over 5 days a week, for 1 week.
You may also be required to complete approximately 10 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including students are expected to spend at least 10 hours for self-study of theory,case study and preparation for final assessment.
Full attendance and participation in ALL activities during the course will satisfy the required performance criteria as per AMSA requirements.

This course offering is designed for people who:
- The Electronic Chart Display Information System (ECDIS) course has been developed to provide the knowledge, skill and understanding of ECDIS and electronic charts to the thorough extent needed to safely navigate vessels whose primary means of navigation of ECDIS. The course, is AMSA approved as meeting the requirements of STCW 78 as amended, Reg II/1 and Code Section A-II/1, Table A-II/1, Marine Order 70 and IMO Model Course 1.27. 2012 EDITION
It provides generic training to ECDIS operators on the principles and operation of ECDIS. Course materials will be issued to students

To keep you safe while studying, some of our face to face classes may be replaced with online or connected learning. We have also modified our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. As restrictions ease, the way you attend your class may change again. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, due to the impacts of COVID 19 there may be a delay or modification in being able to undertake these aspects of your course in the planned timeframe. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.
This course is currently scheduled on 5 days, Monday to Friday from 08:30am to 04:30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
This training is not subsidised by Government funding. There are no fee exemptions, concessions or subsidies available for this course.
Payment of course fee must be made 3 days PRIOR to commencement of learning activity.
You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:
Full payment of the course fee is required 3 days prior to the start of the class.
Refund of the course fee is only due in the following circumstances-
- TAFE NSW has cancelled the course you were enrolled in, or
- You formally advise the campus in writing at least 7 days prior to the start of your course that you are withdrawing.
In any other circumstances, full or partial refund of the course fee is at the discretion of the campus delegate.
NOTE: If you are coming from Interstate or Overseas, please ensure that you book your flights / Accomodation on a fully refundable basis.
