Course Details

This short course is for people currently working in the electrical industry who want to apply for provisional Clean Energy Council (CEC) certification - Grid Connect Design Accreditation (design only).

When you study with TAFE NSW, we want you to succeed. Entry requirements allow us to make sure that you have the right pre-existing knowledge and skills to achieve your chosen qualification. You will need to provide evidence that you meet the requirements listed in this section.

Enrolment in this course is for people currently working in, or planing to work in, the electrical industry and who have prior suitable qualifications. You will be required to have an acceptable level of maths skills along with some knowledge of the renewable and/or electrical industry.

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:

  • having relevant prior electrical and/or renewable knowledge for entry into this course (eg: course transcript and/or evidence of working in the industry), and an interview with the Course Coordinator.


    To successfully complete this course, you will need:

  • to complete the required assessments which include a Written Examination and a Design project involving performing calculations; designing and costing a grid connected photovoltaic system to suit specified requirements; and providing advice to clients.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a part time evening face to face course. You will need to attend approximately 4 hours of class, over 1 day a week, for 15 weeks.

You may also be required to complete approximately 5 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including independent study, research, practice and assignments.

  • people currently working in the electrical / renewables industry, and are seeking to obtain CEC (Clean Energy Council) provisional DESIGN Accredition. NOTE: CEC INSTALLATION Accreditation is a different course.
