This qualification is a general industry qualification for persons operating at an assistant level and undertaking animal care functions in an animal care workplace.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. However, an individual unit of competency may specify relevant licensing, legislative and/or regulatory requirements. Specific determination should be sought through the relevant State or Territory.

This is a part-time face-to-face course. You will need to attend approximately 6 hours of class, over 1 day a week,
You may also be required to complete approximately 6 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours which will include Private study, research, assignment preparation.
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?
This course offering is designed for are wanting to gain the skills in animal care in order to enter an animal care workplace. The Certificate III in Animal Studies is an entry course into the animal care industry. This covers animal care and includes subject areas on; identification, handling, feeding and nutrition, WHS, work place communication, health care of animals. There are many potential job roles at this level in the animal care industry. The certificate III in Animal Studies also offers a pathway for further learning such as; Certificate III and IV and Companion Animal Services, ACM30617 Certificate III in Pet Grooming and ACM40412 Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

This course is currently scheduled on Thursday 8.30am to 3.30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
