This is a blended, flexible course. You will need to attend approximately 3.5 hours of class, over 1 day a week, 18 months. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 5.1 hours of other study per week.
You may also be required to complete approximately 15.3 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including additional research or learning activities incuding-
- Revision for exams, or practice for skills assessments and general research/reading for each unit.
This course is offered by Connected Classroom. This is just like a regular classroom, but teachers and students use the latest video conferencing technologies.
Your teacher can be in one TAFE location, and you can join the class from another TAFE location using video conferencing equipment or a mobile device. You can also join in from a venue in a participating regional community. You will be able to see and talk to your teacher and other students as though they were in the room with you. You will also have access to support to meet your learning needs.

This course offering is designed for people who are wishing to enter the Animal Care industry.
The learner target groups for Certificate II in Animal Studies are Predominantly Pre-employment.
Entry-level students, some may have a disability. TAFE Disability consultants will be contacted if a student indicates they may need assistance during the course. Communication is undertaken with disability consultant, section and student to determine this. During this communication aspects such as reasonable adjustment will be discussed for both delivery and assessment.
SERVICES AND STUDY SUPPORT
Support is based on discussion with students and enrolment details. A one-on-one interview can be undertaken and if deemed applicable, a meeting will be arranged to discuss the LLN assistance that TAFE NSW can provide to the learner, with a view to creating an individual training and learning plan that best addresses the learners LLN needs.
Every effort is made by TAFE NSW staff to ensure a successful outcome for enrolled learners. TAFE NSW offers a free tutorial support service to all TAFE NSW learners and further support services.

This course is currently scheduled on Thursday 9:30am to 12:00pm via Microsoft Teams and Wednesday 9:30am to 4:00pm face to face every 4 weeks . This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study.
- General stationary required to undertake the qualification (pens, paper, 2 ring binder and tabs).
- PPE such as covered foot protection for example, covered in shoes/boots, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
