INDUSTRY DEMAND
Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing employs approximately 326,200 persons (ABS trend data). Over the past five years, employment in the industry has increased by 1.5 per cent.
The Agriculture industry requires skilled people to contribute to developing more efficient methods of food and fibre production, as the demand to produce more with less land and water resources increases

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
TAFE NSW offers the Certificate II in Agriculture as either a traineeship or non-traineeship, so you can grow the career you want.
Non-traineeship
There are no entry requirements for non-trainees. You can enrol in this course now.
Traineeship
To be eligible for this course you must:
- Be employed in the agriculture industry as this course is delivered in the workplace
- Have a signed traineeship contract

STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a blended part time day course. You will need to attend approximately 9 hours of class, over 1 day a week, 1 year.
You may also be required to complete approximately 9.1 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, research and assignment preparation.
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?
This is an entry level qualification. This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in agriculture. The qualification enables individuals to select a livestock production, cropping or livestock context as a job focus or, in the case of mixed farming enterprises, both cropping and livestock.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
