This is a flexible part-time course. You will need to attend approximately 1 day per term, face to face workshop for 18 months. As well as the workshop component, you will need to complete approximately 17 hours of other study per week.
You may also be required to complete approximately 3 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours and including research and practicing assessment skills in a horticultural area.
Students must have access to a horticultural area to complete practical components of this course.

Want to work in the horticulture industry or gain practical skills to complete higher-level training. A great way to start is to focus on study that emphasises practical skills. You will study at your own pace, completing units in a sequence provided by your teacher. Your teacher will be available to assist your learning should you have any struggles with the subject matter and you can go to your local TAFE and get guided one-on-one support if you need it.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
