This qualification provides occupation outcomes with a range of specialised knowledge and skills to undertake skilled work and as a pathway for further learning required for arborists in the arboriculture industry.
Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include the general title Arborist, and the specialisation titles:
- Climbing Arborist
The qualification covers both ground-based workers and those working at heights.This qualification does not require a person to work at heights, however, units that include the skills and knowledge required to work at heights, both from an elevated work platform (EWP) and by climbing trees, are included as elective streams.
The testamur issued for this qualification is to be titled AHC30815 Certificate III in Arboriculture (Climbing)
This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship.
Occupational Licensing, legislative or certification requirements may apply to this qualification in some jurisdictions. Specific determination should be sought through the relevant State or Territory.

This is a part-time day, face to face delivery course. You will need to attend approximately 7 hours of class, over 1 day a week, for 18 months.
You may also be required to complete approximately 17 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including assessment research and preparation, research, self-directed study and skills tracker.

This course is currently scheduled on Tuesdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

A fee applies for most TAFE NSW courses and must be paid when you enrol. The amount you pay depends on the type of course you study, and on your personal circumstances. An initial payment of $80 is required to confirm your enrolment into this course. If you do not wish to continue with your enrolment, you must formally advise Customer Service of your withdrawal.
