Complete the nationally accredited Statement of Attainment in Agricultural Chemical skill set and gain a competitive edge in the market. Through this course, you will gain skills that will allow you to transport and handle chemicals unsupervised across a range of industries like, national parks, golf courses and beekeeping.

Through theory and practical course work, you will learn how to:
- Manage chemicals unsupervised
- Handle, apply and transport chemicals independently
- Perform chemical store audits
- Execute calibration exercises in a workshop and chemical storage facility
- Use sprayers, wipers and applicators

Completing this course will provide you with:
- Eligibility to apply for your Chemical Users Licence through the NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) which enables you to purchase, apply, and store chemicals unsupervised

This skill set broadens your employment opportunities by building on your existing qualification and career in land management and enables you to purchase and apply chemicals to control pests, weeds and diseases.
An increasing focus on safety is driving demand for workers trained in key safety areas including the transport and application of chemicals. The demand for skilled workers in parks and gardens, conservation and land management is expected to increase in the coming years.
There are no information sessions currently scheduled for this course.
This is a part time day face to face course. You will need to attend approximately 16 hours of class, over 2 consecutive days. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 12 hours of other study per week.
You may also be required to complete approximately 12 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including completion of distance learning activities using the internet and VETRes AQF3 ?Safe Application of Chemicals? learner resource which includes structured activities at the end of each section.

To keep you safe while studying, some of our face to face classes may be replaced with online or connected learning. We have also modified our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. As restrictions ease, the way you attend your class may change again. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, due to the impacts of COVID 19 there may be a delay or modification in being able to undertake these aspects of your course in the planned timeframe. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.
This course is currently scheduled on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 September 2020, from 8.30am to 4.00pm at TAFE NSW Hay, 178 Lachlan Street, Hay.
This training is not subsidised by Government funding. There are no fee exemptions, concessions or subsidies available for this course.
Payment of course fee must be made PRIOR to commencement of learning activity.
