Course Details

Complete the nationally accredited Statement of Attainment in Agricultural Chemical skill set and gain a competitive edge in the market. Through this course, you will gain skills that will allow you to transport and handle chemicals unsupervised across a range of industries like, national parks, golf courses and beekeeping.

An increasing focus on safety is driving demand for workers trained in key safety areas including the transport and application of chemicals. The demand for skilled workers in parks and gardens, conservation and land management is expected to increase in the coming years.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a blended, part-time day course. You will need to attend approximately 8 hours of class, over 1 days a week, for 2 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 6 hours of other study per week.

IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?

This course offering is designed for people who:
Are applying and purchasing chemicals and under the Pesticides Act 1999 are required to hold the units of competence within this Skill Set.
Persons applying chemicals on public lands (scheduled premises) and/or employed to apply chemicals, must hold a (chemical users) licence issued by the NSW Environment Protection Agency (EPA). Persons undertaking, or who have successfully completed the Chemical Users Skill Set AHCSS00074 are eligible to apply to the EPA for such a (chemical users) licence.

Additional Educational and Computer access support will be provided, If you don't have the required computer literacy, we will endeavour to accommodate your needs by attending Face to Face classes, or telephone support or you may be able to access a computer at a TAFE NSW Library. SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

This course is fully government-subsidised for eligible students, meaning you will not have to pay any course fees. It is part of a program to help people develop the skills they need to get a job, undertake entry level qualifications or transition to a new job.

If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.
