This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of servicing tasks in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To successfully complete this course, you will need:

  • complete a knowledge assessment and a skills assessment for all units.
  • to provide and bring to each session appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include: safety glasses, gloves, safety footwear, suitable clothing such as cotton drill work wear and other equipment (e.g. ear protection or respiratory masks) in line with industry requirements for their workplace or worksite.

STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a face to face part time day course. You will need to attend approximately 24 hours of class, over 3 consecutive days every 3 weeks, for 15 weeks over 18 months.
The timetable is subject to change and will be confirmed by your teacher on your first day.

You can also expect approximately 5.5 hours of additional study each week including independent study outside of class hours.

  • Wish to service vehicles in the automotive industry. On successful completion of the course the student willl gain credit towards the Certificate III Automotive trade/apprenticeship course.

This course is currently scheduled on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8.00am to 5.00pm every third week in Block C, Level G, Room CG.11. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
