The nationally recognised Certificate II in Automotive Body Repair Technology builds the technical skills and knowledge you need to work as a Automotive body repair assistant. Challenge yourself and use your repair skills to transform cars and exceed customer expectations.


Through a mix of theory and practical coursework, learn to:

To successfully complete this course, you will need:

  • be actively employed in the Automotive Windscreen Repair industry
  • to complete all assessment tasks, both theory and practical based
  • to provide and bring to each session appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include: safety glasses, gloves, safety footwear, suitable clothing such as cotton drill work wear and other equipment (e.g. ear protection or respiratory masks) in line with industry requirements for their workplace or worksite.

This is a flexible part time evening course. You will need to attend approximately 2 hours of class, over 1 evening per week for 12 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 1 hour of other study per week.


This course offering is designed for people who:

  • are existing workers in the automotive windscreen repair industry who are seeking to attain a NSW Fair Trading licence in the specialised repair class of "Glazing work". This class of repair covers individuals who install, repair or remove windscreens or other glass in or from the bodies of motor vehicles in NSW.

This is a flexible course and no attendance on Campus is required. Participation is via the MS Teams web conferencing platform. A typical attendance pattern is 2 hours per week for 12 weeks from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.


This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
