Assessments

Materials needed

To complete this course, the following materials are required:

  • You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:

    • Stage 1 (2022) Textbook - Collision Repair and Refinishing Edition 3 by Thomas and Jund - $145.00 Course manual is a requirement for study. Students can source their own manual if required.

  • PPE - Gloves, safety glasses and ear protection $20.00 PPE is a WHS requirement to enter the workshop. Students have option of sourcing their own PPE

    • Stage 2 (2023) PPE - Gloves, safety glasses and ear protection $20.00 PPE is a WHS requirement to enter the workshop. Students have option of sourcing their own PPE
    • Stage 3 (2024) PPE - Gloves, safety glasses and ear protection $20.00 PPE is a WHS requirement to enter the workshop. Students have option of sourcing their own PPE

Additional entry requirements

To make sure this delivery option is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

    • Be employed as an apprentice in the automotive industry as evidenced by a letter of support from your employer
    • Submit your Training Plan Proposal (TPP) with your application

  • To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:

    • an apprentice (you will work in industry and study at the same time)
    • employed full time
    • signed up with an Apprentice Network Provider and have a Training Plan Proposal
    • seeking to gain skills and knowledge to become a qualified panel beater after successful completion

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 31 Units of competency, including 17 core and 14 speciality units.
