Assessments

Work placement

Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

  • There is no work placement requirement for this qualification. As an apprentice, you will gain your experience on-the-job with your employer.

  • If you are enrolling as a non-apprentice, you need to be in relevant employment or have access to appropriate simulated workplace environments in order to meet the course completion requirements.

Materials needed

To complete this course, the following materials are required:

  • You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:

    • Students are required to provide and bring to each session appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes: safety footwear, glasses, gloves, suitable clothing such as cotton drill work wear and other equipment (e.g ear protection or respiratory masks) in line with industry requirements for their workplace or worksite.

    • seeking to gain skills and knowledge to become a qualified Vehicle Refinishing Technician after successful completion

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 30 Units of competency, including 18 core and 12 speciality units.
