INDUSTRY DEMAND

TAFE NSW REQUIREMENTS

TAFE NSW offers the Certificate III in Business as either a traineeship or non-traineeship, so you can build the career you want.

Depending on the course you choose and the campus you want to study at you will need to provide evidence that you meet all relevant entry criteria.

Traineeship

To be eligible for this course you must:

  • Be employed in the?business services?industry as this course is delivered in the workplace
  • Have a signed?traineeship contract

Non-traineeship

There are no entry requirements for non-trainees enrolling in this course.

Note: The Certificate II in Business is not eligible for government-subsidised Smart and Skilled funding. Talk to our team about your payment options.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification.

BE PREPARED

To be prepared for this course, it is recommended that you have:

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a full-time face to face delivery course. You will need to attend approximately 25 hours of class, over 4 days a week, for 18 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 9 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 7 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, assignment preparation, work experience and research.

This delivery strategy has been tailored to meet the needs of students who are New Entrants to the CIII - Business. New Entrant learners have existing knowledge, skills and experience that they bring to their learning, this may be gained through previous and/or current work experience and/or education. The underpinning skills that these learners bring to this qualification will depend on their level of previous work experience and /or education.

To keep you safe while studying, some of our face to face classes may be replaced with online or connected learning. We have also modified our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. As restrictions ease, the way you attend your class may change again. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, due to the impacts of COVID-19 there may be a delay or modification in being able to undertake these aspects of your course in the planned timeframe. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.

This course is currently scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00am to 2:30pm, Thursdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm and Fridays from 9:00am to 4:30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

This is a fully government-subsidised JobTrainer course. Eligibility criteria applies.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

A fee applies for most TAFE NSW courses and must be paid when you enrol. The amount you pay depends on the type of course you study, and on your personal circumstances. An initial payment of $80 is required to confirm your enrolment into this course. If you do not wish to continue with your enrolment, you must formally advise Customer Service of your withdrawal.
