Traineeship

To be eligible for this course you must:

  • Be in relevant employment as this course is delivered in the workplace
  • Have a signed traineeship contract

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a part time evening course. You will need to attend approximately 6.6 hours of class, over 3 evenings a week, for 36 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 4.8 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 4.9 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including research on WHS, organise meetings and specific task reinforcment (complex word, complex spreadsheets).

This course offering is designed for people who:

  • are existing workers, already working either in business administration or office junior roles and are seeking to upskill and obtain a certification so that they may secure employment in a more senior business administration support role
  • are wanting further study in business administration at higher levels
  • are currently employed and have a good understanding of workplace expectations and practices, including skills in communication and team work
  • may have come from a business or office environment and have learnt their computer skills on-the-job and may have gaps in the knowledge and theory of computer applications
  • are comfortable working with others, reporting to a supervisor and taking instruction/directions on how to complete a task
  • have experiene working to timelines

This course is flexible with self-paced classes offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. You can also attend day classes on Monday to Wednesday from 9.00am to 3.30pm and Friday from 9.00am to 1.00pm.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
