This qualification is suitable for individuals working in a range of human resources management positions. Job roles could include human resources assistants, human resources coordinators, human resources administrators and payroll officers.
Workplace responsibilities would be determined at a workplace level. Some smaller business may require employees to work across all aspects of human resources. In larger companies, individuals may just have responsibility for a singular aspect of human resources such as remuneration.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

This is a blended part time course. You will need to complete approximately 5.6 hours of study per week, for 18 months.
You may also be required to complete approximately 1.5 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours,, including research and accessing workplace documents.
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?
This broad-based human resources management course is not industry specific but rather is relevant to all industry sectors and organisations. The primary target groups for this course includes:
- Existing workers, who have been in the workforce for at least 12 months who are aspiring to work in the area of human resources, from a diverse range of businesses and industry contexts.
- Existing workers and who may be already working in or have relieved in a human resources or supervisory role. Alternatively, if a student has also completed the Certificate III or IV in Business, this provides sound foundation skills and knowledge that are built upon in this course
- Mature age students with previous qualifications
- Students who have assumed responsibility for their own performance and are self-directed.

Individuals work through the units by attending face-to-face workshop sessions, accessing scheduled and ad hoc one on one or group tutorial assistance and accessing resources. Workshop attendance is not compulsory but is highly recommended.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
