Course Details

This qualification is suitable for autonomous individuals who identify and apply project management skills and knowledge in a wide variety of contexts. Job titles for these roles may include contracts officers, project administrators, quality officers and small business operators.

Individuals in these roles might be members of a project team, with no direct responsibility for overall project outcomes. Primarily, these roles would support wider project operations. They may use project tools and methodologies selectively to support organisational or business activities.

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:

  • Already working in a role that has access to projects and where opportunities will be available for you to apply your learning in the workplace as the course progresses

  • Experienced in industry at least to Certificate 3 level including working on projects with teams, writing workplace documents, using MS software packages

    To successfully complete this course, you will need:

  • A notebook, folder, pen and USB stick

  • Access to internet and computer hardware/software to join Skype or MS Teams sessions from locations other than campus

  • MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Chrome or Explorer to complete word processing, presentations, spreadsheets and internet research

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a part-time day, blended course. You will need to attend approximately 4 hours of class, over 1 days a week, for 40 weeks - involving 8 hours classroom attendance monthly and 8 hours Adobe connect (online classroom) monthly. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 6.8 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 2.3 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including instructional readings and activities on Moodle, private study, research, assignment preparation and completion of project management templates.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.
