This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of their team.

They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

There are no entry requirements for this course, however, to ensure students have the required skill set to complete this course . It is beneficial for students to have access to a computer at home to allow for practice and completion of at home activities and completion of assessment work. Students will also have access to TAFE campus library resources to complete any work.

To successfully complete this course, you will need:
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills as defined in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). If you haven?t studied at this level or above before, you may be required to undertake an assessment of your LLN skills so that we can better understand your academic capabilities and identify areas where you may need support. If you do not meet these requirements a Teacher will discuss alternative options or support services available to help you achieve your study goals.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a Part Time Evening, Blended course. You will need to attend approximately 6 hours of class, over 2 days a week, for 36 weeks.. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 6.1 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 3.9 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including Private study, research and assessment preparation.

The target learner group for BSB41015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management are those already working in a leadership role who have identified that they need additional skills, or those who would like to work in a leadership role and are looking to advancement or to apply for new roles. Learners may likely hold some previous qualifications in business, management or administration.

This course is currently scheduled on Monday, and Wednesday from 5.00am to 8.00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:
Students will need to provide their own general stationery, (ie, pen, pencil, eraser, highlighters and stapler), including an A4 ring binder/dividers and plastic sleeves for handouts. Headphones and a USB storage device or access to a cloud storage account will also be required for document storage.
