You would need Year 10 or equivalent, or relevant qualifications or vocational experience to complete this course. This is the right course to start if you've studied before, but not studied any law units. The initial two units in this course, BSBLEG301 - Apply knowledge of the legal system to complete tasks and BSBLEG413 - Identify and apply the legal framework, provide an informative introduction to the Australian Legal System and how it operates.

You will need to video certain practical tasks so will need access to a digital video recording device and/or a digital camera and associated software to save and upload video and image files. Many mobile phones and smart phones include this technology.

There is a clear benefit to completing both Certificate IV in Legal Services and Diploma of Legal Services. You will have a very well-rounded, more extensive understanding of Australian law. For example, amongst other units, you will study contract law, tort law and evidence law in the Certificate IV course and family law, criminal law and property law in the Diploma course.
Not only will this be impressive on your CV, it will also provide you with ready knowledge if you commence working with a Firm or Department that practices specifically in that particular area. In that way, doing both courses may open more doors for your career.

Jobs which you would be ready for on completion include:
