This qualification would apply to individuals with various job titles including administration managers, general office managers and office managers. Individuals in these roles may possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work and/or the work of a team.

This course is primarily delivered online to allow students to complete studies flexibly throughout a 42 week delivery over the course of 1 year. The course offers Blended Workshops 4 times a year held on Saturdays for students to attend at their convenience to allow students face to face contact with their teacher for guidance and assistance. The timetable for these workshops will be provided during orientation session. Please note these workshops are optional.

Students are expected to devote 4 hours per week to studies completing activities such as including online videos, tutorials, professional articles and reading materials for independent study, inclusive of research, practice and completion of assignments. Only one textbook is required for this course, with all other materials provided through an online learning platform - Moodle.

It is essential that students have at least a Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent administrative experience with underpinning skills for complex word processing. Students may be accepted if they have 3 years industry experience as a personal assistant or equivalent.

This course is delivered using an online learning system with 4 workshops offered on Saturdays during the length of the course. The timetable for these classes will be available during the orientation session or via your facilitator.


This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL). If you meet the VSL eligibility and academic suitability requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.
