Attendance is not necessary on all days, however, it is preferred, you have the option of making up days at other course locations or dates, contact the facilitators to discuss your options. Additional support is available via email, phone or arranged meeting with your facilitators.
For this campus-based course you will undertake your learning and assessment in a classroom at a local TAFE Western Campus. This program includes activities which are to be completed in your own time. You will have up to 18 months to complete your assessment tasks.
This course is aimed at individuals who already have some workplace experience and qualifications in WHS.
There are formal entry requirements for this qualification, which are:
All core units in BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent competencies.
Equivalent competencies are predecessors to the following units, which have been mapped as equivalent:
- BSBWHS402 Assist with compliance with WHS laws
- BSBWHS403 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS consultation and participation processes
- BSBWHS404 Contribute to WHS hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
- BSBWHS405 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS management systems
- BSBWHS406 Assist with responding to incidents
TAFE West conditions of entry to this course are the ability to work independently.
Your enrolment is not complete until you have finalised your fees.
Your facilitators are highly qualified with extensive workplace experience. They aim to help you understand the theory and apply it to the workplace using practical examples and hands-on tasks with regular feedback and guidance along the way. After the workshops, our trainers are available to give you extra support. A tutorial day will be offered where you can attend class and work on assessments under the guidance of a facilitator.
