BE PREPARED

To be prepared for this course, if is recommended that you be:

  • A strong communicator with good presenter skills
  • Confident with technology and able to access and navigate the internet and use word processing and presentation software
  • Advanced in language and literacy skills, ideally you will have completed Australian Year 12 or its overseas equivalent

    While there are no formal educational requirements for entry into this course, the completion of a Cert IV in Business/Leadership & Management (or similar), or 2-3 years industry experience with at least 12 months supervisory experience is the recommended pathway. STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a Part Time Evening Blended course. You will need to attend approximately 4 hours of class, over 2 evenings (one on campus, one online) a week, for 52 weeks/ 1 year. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 8 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 2.5 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, practice and making independent enquiry

This course is delivered in subject blocks over a 4 week period with online classes held each Monday from 7:00pm-8:30pm; a class on campus on Wednesday 6:00pm-9:00pm and completed with one Saturday workshop 9:00am-4:00pm in the 4th week. There are 8 blocks in total. You will attend 4.5 hours of classes for 3 weeks and 10.5 hours in the 4th week. You will be required to undertake a further 12-14 hours per week completing learning activities and assessments tasks.

IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?

This course offering is designed for people who:
Have completed year 12 (HSC) or equivalent, Cert IV in Business/Leadership or 2-3 years experience working as part of a team in a business environment with at least 12 months of supervisory experience. It is also important that you have access to a computer with reliable internet connection and have the skills to be able to use basic features of Microsoft office, such as, formatting documents, using templates, tables, spreadsheets and presentations. In addition you should have sound communication skills that will allow you to express your ideas both in writing and verbally as well as an ability to set and achieve work goals.

This course is currently scheduled on Monday 7:00pm - 8:30pm (online webinar) and on campus Wednesday 6:00pm to 9:00pm and every 4 weeks on Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

PAYMENT OPTIONS AND ASSISTANCE

This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL). If you meet the VSL eligibility and academic suitability requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.
