This course is currently scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with day classes. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge tasks: online quizzes, short answer questions, case studies, written tasks and research projects, matching and true or false activities
Practical tasks before starting work placement: interviews, role-plays, creative projects, presentations and practical demonstrations
Workplace assessment tasks: written tasks, reflective journals, verbal or written questioning, planning and implementing activities, practical demonstrations

Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
First Aid- complete HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting, which will include a mandatory 14-hour face to face session. For students who are unable to attend a TAFE NSW campus to complete the unit they will need to obtain a statement of attainment for HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting with another RTO and provide evidence of this. Student’s fee will be reduced accordingly on enrolment or submission of their statement once a credit transfer has been completed. In order to complete HLTAID012, you must be able to undertake first aid responses including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for at least 2 minutes while kneeling on the floor.
A valid Working with Children Check will be required by the Education and Care Service.
The Service and/or some locations may also have additional requirements such as vaccination and Police Checks. Students will be notified of specific requirements prior to placement.

To make sure this delivery option is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.
This full time day (9 months course) is 4-5 day per week program for 28 delivery weeks over three schoolterms. It would be best suited to a learner who is able to commit to 3-4 days per week on campus and/or virtual classroom study. If this does not sound like you, we have other delivery options that may better suit you. Students will require regular access to and have the ability to use a computer and internet. This could either be your personal device or can be accessed at your local campus.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 17 Units of competency, including 15 core and 2 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.
Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
