The nationally accredited Certificate III in Education Support enables you to work as an in-demand learning support officer or teachers aide. Assist students with varying and additional needs so they get the most out of study and make a difference in the lives of children and young people.

Tuesday, 1 June 2021 | 10:00am to 12:00 pm| Nirimba Campus, Building T1F, Level 1, Room 125 (T1F.1.125)
This is a Full Time course. You will need to attend approximately 9.3 hours of class, 2 days a week, for 19 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 19.9 hours of other study per week.
You may also be required to complete approximately 20.7 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including working through notes online and text book, preparation for assessment, reviewing class work, reading study notes and personal thoughts/reflections.

You are expected to do 2 hours self-paced study after each class of attendance to complete the course. This course is designed for flexible learning and you are expected to read the readings allocated prior to the commencement of each class. Please note each class topic is based on the allocated readings.
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?
This qualification is targeted at school leavers, new entrant workers and those returning to workforce after a period of unemployment.
Learners may enter this qualification with no prerequisites.
The main learner cohort that this qualification attracts is mature aged learners returning to the workforce after a period of unemployment. The majority of these learners have significant family commitments.
The delivery of this offering supports learners to attend face to face, yet study flexibly outside of classroom hours for the majority of the delivery.
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of education settings, including public and independent schools and community education settings, who provide assistance and support to teachers and students under broad-based supervision.

The way you learn may change during your enrolment to ensure the best learning experience or to keep you safe as COVID-19 restrictions change, and some of our face to face classes may change to online or virtual classroom learning. Also, to ensure that we keep you safe while studying, we may modify our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, there may be a modification or delay in the planned timeframe due to COVID-19 impacts. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.
This course is currently scheduled on Wednesday and Friday from 9.30am to 12.30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
