The nationally accredited Certificate III in Education Support enables you to work as an in-demand learning support officer or teachers aide. Assist students with varying and additional needs so they get the most out of study and make a difference in the lives of children and young people.

There are no information sessions currently scheduled for this course.
This is a part-time face-to-face day course. You will need to attend approximately 12.8 hours of class, over approximately 1 day a week, for 36 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 7 hours of other study per week.
You may also be required to complete approximately 4.3 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including prescribed readings, research and follow up activities, assessment preparation, self-directed learning and private study, work placement extra curricula activities, school programs, induction and professional development meetings.
This course is offered by Connected Classroom. This is just like a regular classroom, but teachers and students use the latest video conferencing technologies.
Your teacher can be in one TAFE location, and you can join the class from another TAFE location using video conferencing equipment or a mobile device. You can also join in from a venue in a participating regional community. You will be able to see and talk to your teacher and other students as though they were in the room with you. You will also have access to support to meet your learning needs.
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?
This course offering is designed for people who want to work in a range of education settings, including public and independent schools and community education settings, who provide assistance and support to teachers and students under broad-based supervision. Cohorts can include existing workers, new to industry, and trainees. There are no licensing, legislative or certification requirements that apply to this qualification, however learners will need to be able to obtain a Working with Children Check to be able to undertake the work placement component of the course. Students will need Language, literacy and numeracy skills at a level that allows them to be able to access a computer and the internet and complete course work. Industry strongly supports the use of work placements in the Community Services sector for a number of reasons:
- To strengthen the individuals experience of the workplace to support future expectations of performance in the workforce
- To develop practice skills and application of knowledge within the workplace promotes stronger embedding of learning
- To provide exposure to real workplace situations and circumstances which cannot be replicated in a learning environment or simulation.

The way you learn may change during your enrolment to ensure the best learning experience or to keep you safe as COVID-19 restrictions change, and some of our face to face classes may change to online or virtual classroom learning. Also, to ensure that we keep you safe while studying, we may modify our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, there may be a modification or delay in the planned timeframe due to COVID-19 impacts. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.
This course is currently scheduled for Mondays through online delivery from 9.00am to 3.30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
