A minimum of 100 hours of work placement in a classroom environment catering to primary or secondary school students, within at least one school in Australia, is a national requirement for this qualification.

The work placement will be be organised by individual students with endorsement from TAFE NSW via a letter of introduction from the teaching section to verify your enrolment in the Education Support qualification for the school that you are requesting work placement experience. This work placement will be provided in partnership with the school and implemented within the student’s program to enable consolidation, reflection, improvement, and assessment to occur.

Work placement is an opportunity to learn on the job and complete assessment requirements and often leads to employment opportunities. You need to meet the following requirements to be able to undertake work placement. Your teacher will let you know when you need to provide evidence of:

-A Working with Children Check (WWCC)
    -Vaccination and health screenings

If you are not vaccinated we cannot assure you that this component of your course can be organized or fulfilled, which will impact your ability to successfully course complete. Details can be found https://education.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/advice-for-families/vaccination-requirements-for-school-sites#Vaccination0

TAFE NSW recognises students’ reasons for not being vaccinated. This can be discussed privately with TAFE NSW career counsellors prior to enrolment.
