ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY
If you are seeking to enrol in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.
A range of criteria apply for course fees and to access government subsidised training.
Remember, TAFE NSW provides a range of easy and flexible payment options for students or a nominated third party. (If a nominated third party is covering the cost of your fees, a letter of authority or purchase order will be required).

When your enrolment is complete, and you have paid the applicable fees, you will be entitled to attend class, participate in training, sit for examinations, receive educational awards, use amenities and services and receive an active TAFEcard (which provides access to library resources).
In addition to your course fee, there may be some additional charges to cover the costs of undertaking this training.
Costs associated with work experience and field trips such as food, transport and accommodation are at the students own expense.
Students are required to purchase a TAFE work placement shirt from the Nursing, Aged Care and Health section at a cost of $30. Shirts will be measured at the commencement of the course. Other uniform requirements at the student's own expense are covered, waterproof shoes with a non-slip sole and navy or black pants or mid length skirt.

To successfully complete this qualification you must be able to deal with the physical demands of manual tasks e.g. bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching and repetitive movements for direct support work.
