To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY
If you are seeking to enrol in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.
A range of criteria apply for course fees and to access government subsidised training.
Remember, TAFE NSW provides a range of easy and flexible payment options for students or a nominated third party. (If a nominated third party is covering the cost of your fees, a letter of authority or purchase order will be required).

When your enrolment is complete, and you have paid the applicable fees, you will be entitled to attend class, participate in training, sit for examinations, receive educational awards, use amenities and services and receive an active TAFEcard (which provides access to library resources).
In addition to your course fee, there may be some additional charges to cover the costs of undertaking this training.
Costs associated with work experience and field trips such as food, transport and accommodation are at the students own expense.

Participation in the learning environment is either by attending the CLC at Singleton in person, or you can connect to the class by internet from another location. This can be from your home or at another CLC.
When connecting to the class room via the internet you will be required to do this through Adobe Connect. You can think of this as a live virtual meeting room where class material will be presented and discussed.
- You will be required to obtain a clear criminal record check to be eligible to complete the work placement associated with this course.
- You will be required to gain documented evidence of immunisation status which is also a work place requirement.
- You will be required to provide your own transport to and from work placement venues and workshops.
- You will be required to to normal shift times of the work placement facility and you will require a level of health and fitness suitable to the care environment.
Your Criminal record check ($42.00- $52.00) and Immunisation status checks will be at your own expense.
Your textbook will be loaned to you from our TAFENSW library for the duration of your course and must be returned on completion of your course.
