ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY
If you are seeking to enrol in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.
To successfully complete this qualification, you must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency and other self directed learning tasks outside the weekly class hours. Work placement is organised by TAFE NSW. Learners are required to obtain a Criminal Record Check prior to commencing work placement at your own cost. If you have to complete First Aid and the First Aid course is held outside of your class time, you will still be required to attend all weekly classes.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

National Police Check - This is an industry requirement and therefore you need to apply and pay for this document, further information will be provided at the first day of class.

A Navy Polo shirt to be supplied by students-it is an industry expectation that students are identifiable when in the workplace, you will be required to wear your TAFE ID at all times. Your TAFE ID badge will be available from your local TAFE front office once your enrolment is completed.
