ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY
If you are seeking to enrol in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.
You will also need to video record a range of practical tasks. To do this you will need access to a digital video recording device and associated software to save and upload video files. Most modern mobile phones are able to do this.
You don't have to be a computer whiz to succeed in online learning, but you should be comfortable typing, using the internet and email, chatting to your teachers or others online, reading course content online, using common software and performing other basic tasks.
Minimum software specifications for your course are:
Microsoft Office or equivalent (free download for TAFE NSW enrolled students)
Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download)
Adobe Flash Player (free download)
Up-to-date internet browser
A message for young people under 17 years of age - If you are under 17 years and wish to enrol you will need to have completed Year 10 or have special permission from school and TAFE to do so. Please contact TAFE Digital on 1300 823 366.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.
This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. The fee that is displayed is the price for a student completing their second qualification and meeting eligibility criteria.
