To make sure this delivery option is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

  • To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you have completed the RU Ready – Level 3 working towards level 4 and eligibility for VET Student Loan.

  • To successfully complete this course, you will need to the capacity to undertake 120 hours of work placement, capacity to attend Counselling Workshops and the willingness to undertake self-directed study.

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Counselling qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 17 units of competency, including 13 core and 4 speciality units.

Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

Course delivery Combination study

Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.

Dubbo

TAFE NSW Dubbo is housed over two centrally located campuses: the Myall Street campus and the Narromine Road campus.TAFE NSW Dubbo specialises in agriculture, heavy and light vehicles, hairdressing and beauty therapy, construction and nursing courses. The Myall Street campus also houses the Yarradamarra Centre for Aboriginal programs such as performing arts and languages.
