    • 240 hours of Industry Engagement.
    • A Working with Childrens Check and Criminal History Check. Information is included below.

  • USI

  • The Commonwealth requires all VET students to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI), and access to government subsidised courses depends on this. Information regarding USI and instructions on how to get your USI are available here www.usi.gov.au. When you have it, keep it with your other personal details so you will have it at enrolment.

  • Legal Checks

  • All students enrolling in community services courses will need to complete a Working with Children's Check (WWCC) and a National Police Check.

  • Working with Children's Check (WWCC)

  • Police Check

  • The Police check is required for placements that you will do as a part of your course. We understand that many students who are considering community services courses may have criminal convictions in their past. We encourage you to apply for your check in any case and if the outcome is of a concern for you, please discuss with teaching and or student support staff. Simply because a person may have a conviction on their record does not mean they are automatically excluded from placements or future work opportunities. The police checks can be applied for online.   • Progress through the course is monitored against your training plan so that any issues are identified and rectified in a timely manner.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 22 units of competency , including 16 core and 6 speciality units.
