Learners will need access to a computer and internet and relevant stationery for study such as pens, note book, thumb drive, etc. Learners will need suitable attire for Work Placement.

  • To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence you have literacy and numeracy skills to a diploma level of study. Learners will be provided with the R U Ready screening to determine their literacy and numeracy levels.

  • To successfully complete this course, you will need to complete 100 hours in a community services organisation.

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Mental Health qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 20 units of competency, including 15 core and 5 speciality units.

Course delivery Combination study

Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.

Bathurst

Located on Panorama Avenue, TAFE NSW Bathurst has a wide range of practical courses available that are aimed at training and placing students into suitable positions in the local workforce. Courses include bricklaying, children's services, communication, media, design, digital media, fitness, human resources management, refrigeration, air conditioning and welfare courses.
